FAQS
Naturally, many people connect the shade of green with Spring, a time of regrowth, fresh beginnings and abundance. Yet green at essence is a very versatile shade. Basically, an all-year favorite, but with several gradations to make it better suited to certain seasons. A good rule of thumb is to add the character of the season to your choice of green.
For Winter, for instance, you should think of cooler tones, such as Le Vert or Wintergreen. Spring goes well with warmer shades like Lime and Mint Chocolate Chip. On the Summery side, you might want to consider Emerald Green and for Fall, you can’t go wrong with Smoky Matcha!
Should the gel application follow the proper prepping steps, your 1-step green gel manicure should last up to two weeks. Make that a chip-resistant two weeks! And should you wish to remove it, you can do so easily with our convenient soak-off remover wraps.
Before you get to the finish, think about the start! Jokes aside, prepping your nails properly is the secret to a smooth, even and long-lasting green gel manicure. More specifically, preparing your cuticles and cleansing oils from your nails before applying gel nail polish is the key to a perfect mani!
Very briefly:
- File nails to smooth edges.
- Push back cuticles gently.
- Buff nails until the surface looks matte.
- Brush off dust and wipe nails with cleanser.
And remember to avoid touching anything after cleaning to keep nails free of oils! Apply a thin first coat and cure, then a thicker second layer, and cure again. Finally, some pro tips: Do one nail at a time to prevent pooling. For an extra glossy finish, apply a Top Coat. And always keep your nails happy—apply cuticle oil and moisturize!
In this case, it is also a good idea to consider the seasons. Holidays especially lend themselves well to a particular time of year, so please see our season-related answer above. As for weddings – always bear in mind what you’re wearing, but also the setting. Rustic wedding venues lend themselves well to green shades from nature. While a more traditional or glitzy wedding can be served best by a green gel manicure that’s more glitzy or sophisticated.
Like any of our color ranges, our green gel polish selection is as vivid as it is distinctive in shades.
For light green gel nail polish, have a look at shades like our Pistachio or Matcha Latte. Shifting to dark green gel polish, you might want to look at Smoky Matcha or Enchanted Forest. Another clear theme is of course to compare green to nature, in all its variety. For something along the lines of forest green gel nail polish, you might want to look at Le Vert or Emerald Green.
